Cajun Creamy Shrimp Sauce Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 pound steak (such as sirloin, ribeye, etc.)
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Reggiano cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with Cajun seasoning to taste, then sear it on both sides until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Set aside.

  2. Reduce heat to medium, add butter, and let it melt before adding the shrimp. Cook the shrimp until they turn pink on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side. Set aside.

  3. Add the garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan using a wooden spoon.

  5. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Cajun seasoning. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about a minute.

  6. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted into the sauce.

  7. Stir in the lemon juice, parsley, and cooked shrimp. Serve the creamy shrimp sauce over the steak.
