Sesame Brioche Buns



Ingredients:

  • 1 kg white flour
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • Anise seeds & sesame seeds

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, warm water, yeast, and 1 tbsp flour. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest until the mixture activates and bubbles.
  2. Add oil, eggs, salt, anise seeds, and sesame seeds, then gradually incorporate the flour.
  3. Mix until you get a sticky dough—there's no need to knead; just bring the dough together.
  4. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes or more until it doubles in size.

Shaping & Baking:

  1. Grease your hands with oil and shape the dough into small balls, placing them on a baking tray.
  2. Let them rise again until well-proofed.
  3. Brush the buns with a beaten egg mixed with a drop of vinegar or milk, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
